Temporalidad Migrante (Migrant temporality)

Temporalidad Migrante es el inicio de un proceso que se abrió a partir de mi participación en el taller ‘Jardines Temporales’ dirigido por Josep-María Martí en Calaf, Barcelona, dentro del programa de Arte Público IDensitat y que tuvo lugar entre los días 29 de junio y hasta el 3 de julio de 2009.
Una de las cosas más llamativas de Calaf, había sido el rápido aumento de su población migrante, haciendo evidente su presencia temporal en las calles del municipio: temporal porque su llegada al pueblo se había producido principalmente por motivos laborales; en ausencia de estos motivos, abandonarían Calaf.
Temporalidad migrante pretendía vincular la “temporalidad” de los jardines que nos proponían al inicio del taller con la «temporalidad» habitual de los migrantes, entendiendo por temporalidad la cualidad de durar por algún tiempo, y en este caso concreto la no-durabilidad de los migrantes en el municipio de Calaf.

Migrant Temporality is the begining of a process that was opened because of my participation at the workshop ‘Jardines Temporales’ leaded by Josep-María Martí in Calaf, Barcelona, within the Art Public program IDensitat, between the 29th of June and the 3rd of July of 2009.
One of the most important things that have changed in Calaf in the last years, was the increase of the migrant population, making evident their temporal presence in the streets of the village: temporal because their arrival to Calaf was consisting of labor motives; in absence of the jobs, the migrants would leave Calaf.
Migrant Temporality was trying to link the «temporality» of the gardens that were proposed to us at the beginning of the workshop, with the habitual «temporality» of migrants, understanding for temporality the quality of being just for a time, in this case specifically, the not-permanence of migrants at the Calaf municipality.
